My 8th year participating in the October’s “Inktober” is complete, and I’m excited to share all 31 days of official prompts, as interpreted by moi (that’s Flambé speak for “me”). Every year, as I near day 31, keeping up with the daily prompts becomes a challenge. This year was no exception! But I was determined to finish close to the deadline.
And Ta! Da!
Each 9×6” page of my accordion book are chock full of inked and painted illustrations with touches of humor, drama, realism, mystery, whimsy and a touch of fantasy. It was great fun stretching my imagination, but I’m happy to be finished (at least until Inktober 2024).
If you missed my October 16th post displaying the first 15 days of illustrations, have no fear! I’ve included them in this post. However, if you’re aching to learn more about Inktober and want to play along next year, all the background info can be found in my Inktober2023 post on the 16th.
So here they all are, beginning with images of each long side of my accordion book. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed the tour through my accordion book. Let me know if you also played along, and if you’ll be taking on the challenge during Inktober 2024.

This was so much fun to look at…to blow up and study!! It’s all so creative! The colors are so layered and complex! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so very much Dee for the comments. I’m happy the collection is complete, but exhausted too! Did you participate this year?

Yes, I did. However, I kept mine pretty simple using just ink. Yours are fabulously detailed. I thought it was cool that both you and I chose to do a dreamcatcher for the first prompt of “dream!” 😊

Excellent! I’d love you to share, if you’d like to! And perhaps great creative minds wander in similar directions! At the very least, share your dream catcher! Thanks Dee!

Barb, what an incredible collection of drawings, experiences, inspirational prompts & quotes! I am so drawn to Fortune — this would make a wonderful series of cards (I just ate a fortune cookie and would love to see your cards inside on the little piece of paper!). Frost — how yummy and drizzly! Chains is really wonderful and reminds me of a keepsake pocket watch I have that my grandfather used. Sparkle — this needs to be on the wall, it’s so energetic! Thanks for sharing your journey through this Inktober challenge! It’s wonderful!

Wonderful comments, Karen! Thanks so much. It’s fun to see which of the prompts resonates with you. Sparkle, for example ….. this is my least favorite. I also thought of creating a panel of fortune cookies with little messages inside, but landed on the tarot card approach instead. If I was into fortune telling, a set of cards like this would be pretty cool! It’s funny ….. I put so much energy into these 31 prompts, my creative spark has fizzled. I keep asking myself …… Now What?! Thanks again for taking the time to peruse the collection and commenting.

I’m sure you did put a lot of energy into those prompts! Maybe a rest will refresh some ideas! I have the opposite problem, my head keeps swirling with projects every time I walk past my creative space or when I’m out on my nature walks. :-O

I believe you’re quite right! Inktober took all my energy and creativity. I must still be in rest mode as it’s a struggle to get anything done in my studio or in Nature! I could use your inspiration!

Wow is all I can say. What an awesome job with inktober! I did mine on one 8×8 with leaf shapes. Was a fun month of tangles. I have had a computer mishap and lost all my contacts in outlook. If you’ll send me your regular email I can send you a picture of what I did. Can’t seem to attach a file to this.
