Workshop Opportunity

January 23, 2025

Yes! You read that right. In less than a week I will be sharing my colored pencil secrets for creating a glowing, jump-off-the-page, reptile eye. During a live 2 hour workshop, hosted by Karen Abend – founder of Sketchbook Revival – you’ll be drawing along with me while learning colored pencil techniques and some cool facts about reptile eyes. But to play along you must register to join the fun.

Just click the following link, Sketchbook Get-Together, Create a Colorful Reptile Eye, to read more about this workshop and to register.

Hope to see you there!

    Barb –

How wonderful that you are doing this with Karen Abend! You are such a committed, exceptional artist and naturalist. I would have loved to participate in this workshop (I love doing animal eyes) but, unfortunately, I will be on travel on the date of the session. I want to wish you all the best in this wonderful debut for you. I know it will be amazing! My best,

    Dee

    1. Hi Dee! Thanks so much for such an encouraging message! I really appreciate the super kind words. This is the first time I’ve done anything like this, especially for such a diverse audience. Nerves are kicking in! But so is my excitement! Hope you enjoy your travels ….. how fun!

  4. Hi Barb- What a cool opportunity! I hope it went great and that you enjoyed it. I sometime save reading blog posts til the weekend, so I’m sorry I missed this earlier. There are so many good art workshops and sketching opportunities. Unfortunately, I miss most of them but I hope to be able to do more at some point when I’m not working FT. Alas, I’m so glad you got to do this! Congrats!

    1. Thanks so much Jean! For my first live Zoom teaching experience, it went pretty good, and I really enjoyed it. After I got over my giant case of butterflies, my excitement and overprep work kicked in. The 2+ hours flew by. Over 200 people attended live; over 600 people signed up and received the recording. Wow! Will I do it again? A definite maybe!
