March 19, 2024
Seems like we’ve had tons and tons of snow this winter. And the closer we got to the official date of Spring (the equinox falls on March 19th this year), the more intense the storms became.
So when the forecast called for four straight days of snowstorms and piles of snow, I had an idea. ……. build a Jolly Snow Glob and journal his Life and Tymes.

Friday, March 15h was the birth day of the “Glob.” Constructed of freshly fallen snow that was the perfect combination of wet and fluffy, he seemed to hold together beautifully. If the weather forecast was accurate, he might even hold together long enough to witness the arrival of Spring.
Did he? See for yourself!

The (Untimely) End

Welcome Spring!

You made snow look so pretty, even in its decline! ⛄️❄️

Ahhhhhh …… you’re so kind, Dee. Creating white on white paper continues to be my nemesis, but journaling that Jolly guys brief life was good practice, and fun too. Thanks for the comments!

What fun! We didn’t get much from this last go around of storms except wind, cold and snow flurries. Our field is mostly melted off now. Beginning to think about disc golf and the garden and not skiing!
Have a great spring Barb.

I hope your trending weather is a good sign for us too. We’re kinda exhausted shoveling snow, especially the heavy wet stuff. Thanks for the comments Sue! And happy Spring to you too.

What a fun way to embrace the snowfall so close to spring! I love how you observed the snow blob’s decline and documented it in your journal! I was looking at photos from last year and I have photos of a dusting of snow covering our daffodils (which are blooming already now, early I think!), so we may not be out of the woods for snow in our area either. However, Welcome Spring!

Thanks Karen! It was fun. Kinda sad to see the “Glob” evaporate into thin air. I’ll bet your daffodils are gorgeous….. and hoping you don’t get any more winters whether to spoil their blooms. Luckily our tulips are only in the leafy stage. Now they can send up their buds, because (fingers crossed) we’ve seen the last snow and bitter cold for the season (toes crossed too!).
